Election Day Sign Games Posted on 11/08/2016 by Cal SkinnerNovember 8, 2016 Here are two instances brought to my attention of campaigns blocking a rival’s sign. A John Bartman sign was placed in front of opponent Steve Reick’s at Heritage Woods in McHenry. Nancy Zettler supporters place signs in front of one for opponent Allen Skillicorn at Tom’s Market on Algonquin Road.
The one for Bartman is obviously inappropriate and reflects poorly on him, even if it was done without his knowledge. But then again he is a Democrat candidate for the 63rd State Representative District. Which is the district in which Jack Franks supporter Democrat Jeffery Lichte filed to run as a Republican in the March 15, 2016 primary election. Thus Steve Reick faced a Democrat opponent in the primary, while Democrat Jack Franks went unopposed. ++++++ Once, just move the Barman sign.

Once, just move the Barman sign.
Boots on the ground.
Shady boots on the ground.
Just a notch above stealing a sign.
Less is more sometimes.
Too many signs or sign aggression bodes poorly for a candidate.
