Anyone see a sticker on the front page of Monday’s Northwest Herald?

If so, for whom?

  1. Ah … emotions and tension run so high on election day. Perhaps a humorous story dealing with the difference between Republicans and Demoncrats might help.

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Southerner?

Here is a little test that will help you decide.

The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You’re walking down a deserted street with your wife
    and two small children.

Suddenly, a Terrorist with a huge knife
    comes around the corner,
    locks eyes with you,
    screams obscenities,
raises the knife, and charges at you…

    You are carrying a
Kimber 1911 cal. 45 ACP, and you are an expert shot.
You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.
    What do you do?

    Democrat’s Answer:
••Well, that’s not enough information to answer the question!
    ••What is a Kimber 1911 cal. 45 ACP?
••Does the man look poor or oppressed?
••Is he really a terrorist? Am I guilty of profiling?
••Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
    ••Could we run away?
    ••What does my wife think?
    ••What about the kids?
••Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?
••What does the law say about this situation?
••Does the pistol have an appropriate safety built into it?
••Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?
••Is it possible he’d be happy with just killing me?
••Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?
••If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?
    ••Should I call 9-1-1?
••Why is this street so deserted?
••We need to raise taxes, have paint & weed day.
••Can we make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.
••I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a consensus.
    ••This is all so confusing!

    Republican’s Answer:

    Southerner’s Answer:

    Click….. (Sounds of reloading)

    Daughter: ‘Nice grouping, Daddy!’
‘Were those the Winchester Silver Tips or Hollow Points?!

Son: ‘Can I shoot the next one?!’

Wife: ‘You are NOT taking that to a Taxidermist!

  2. Monday’s paper had a sticker from the Clerk about election day.

  3. Evidence of Jack Franks’ broken campaign promises are contained in Northwest Herald articles, yet the Northwest Herald endorsed Jack Franks.

Franks Asks County for 2 Advisory Referendums

    June 6, 2014

    by Kevin P Craver

“Franks made clear that he is not pushing for County Board changes as an effort to run for the chairman’s seat in two years, following the footsteps of former state senators Chris Lauzen and Dan Cronin, now chairman of the Kane and DuPage County Boards.

‘What I’m trying to do is reduce our property taxes in McHenry County and make it livable so people don’t leave,’ Franks said.

‘I can promise you I am not running for County Chairman in 2016.

This has nothing to do with me.

    This is about good government.'”

  4. It must have been a double stack 1911 with that many bangs before reloading.

I didn’t know that Kimber made one.

  5. Not typically known for polymer handguns, there was a time that Kimber produced a polymer framed 1911.

While not produced anymore, the handgun was and still is an interesting offering from the company, as Kimber didn’t just go polymer, they also implemented a double-stack magazine.

Unfortunately, the handgun was primary produced during the Clinton presidency, which limited the potentially higher-capacity handgun to 10 rounds, a scant 2 rounds above single-stack flush magazines.

As such, it had limited appeal and was not commercially successful.

Today, full-capacity magazines are readily available and inexpensive.

14 round magazines are manufactured by Mec-Gar for around $30 each.

  6. A polymer framed 1911 is an abomination.

John Moses Browning would roll over in his grave if he knew.

  7. Never fear when Glock is near.

You can keep that 1911, I’ll take Glock reliability.

  8. My Cary paper had the Franks sticker today.

I didn’t notice it or read it until now.

    Voted early

  9. @fierabras-you sir are a small minded, intellectually challenged snake.

Your level of contribution to comments waffles between sophomoric bigoted rants to uninformed gossip.

Heaven help the Republican party of this county if you are one of the people taking point.

  10. Kimbers are absolute trash for the price point. You should not have metal-injection-molded parts in a $2000 pistol.

If you’re looking for a $2,000 1911, get a Springfield TRP or STI.

If you’re looking to spend more, get a Les Baer.

But, for the love of God, don’t drop $2,000 on an unreliable Kimber.

  11. Jay Z took point at the Hillary Clinton campaign event in Cleveland this month.

  12. Fierabass absolutely hilarious!

Well done, my eyes are watering.

  13. “Join me in sending a message to McHenry County leaders in support of this 10% cut.

And know that I will introduce this plan on my first day as your new McHenry County Board Chairman.

    – Jack Franks”

  14. The 12 victorious County Board candidates from the November 8, 2016 election, plus the County Board Chair, will be sworn into office on Monday December 5, 2016?

That being the Organizational Meeting held in the first Monday in December following County Board Elections in even numbered years.

As per the McHenry County Board Rules May 1, 2015, revised July 7, 2015.

In which case Jack Franks will reveal his Cut 10 Plan on December 5, 2016?

  15. Just goes to show all, how these illinoians love to be fleeced !

time to move out of this Blue Sea of you can’t fix stupid…
