The State Comptroller’s Office said lawmakers will be paid in full, but the office said legislators will be paid five months late, like everyone else waiting on a state check.
Way back in the early 1970’s legislator could get their entire two-year salary paid in advance.
My McHenry County Democratic legislator, Tom Hannahan, took advantage of that provision in the law.
Once the Democrat gets in, expect legislator payday checks to start flowing again. The Springfield folks that cannot agree on a budget (or anything else for that matter) gotta feed their kids.
