Two Die in Four Vehicle Crash Near Marengo

Four Vehicle Traffic Crash Results in two Fatalities

A 29-year-old female and a 35-year-old male died following a crash Thursday involving three vehicles and a semi-tractor at the intersection of IL Route 176 and Millstream Road in unincorporated Marengo.

The crash was on Route 176 near Franklinville Road.

On December 15, 2016, at 3:12 p.m., the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, Marengo Police Department, and the Marengo Fire Protection District responded to a crash involving

  • a 2016 Peterbilt semi pulling a 44 foot tanker trailer
  • a 1993 Chevrolet
  • a 2010 Kia
  • a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The driver of the semi was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured.

The names of the persons involved are not being released pending the notification of family.

The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Traffic Crash Investigations Unit, Illinois State Police and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
