Christmas Campaign Signs

The following missive was published in the Northwest Herald and is published here with permission of its author, Kelly Liebmann:

Merry Christmas!

‘Twas the night of the election, when all through the town
The pundits were stirring, Trump could not be brought down.
The ballots were counted by election judges with care,
In hopes that the elections be deemed fair.

The voters were nestled all snug in their beds,
With visions of an election-free season ahead;
Still “Jett for Mayor” signs, up for the next race,
Have littered McHenry with his campaign haste.

Now, Ribar! Now, Bennett! Now, Cuda and primarily Jett!
Shoppers and travelers aren’t thinking about the next ballot yet.
Jett, hear me exclaim, ‘ere you drive us insane,
Let the New Year begin before you start your campaign!

  1. Is he going to cut taxes too just like the real Santa?

    No wait that would mean it’s April Fool and it’s way too early for that.
