Franks Denies Photos of His Two New Democratic Party Patronage Hires

You aren’t going to believe this.

I filed a Freedom of Information request for photos of the two new Democratic Party patronage hires.

My request:

Photos of Bridget Greenen, Executive Assistant to Jack Franks, plus photos of Oliver Serifini, Communications Specialist.(Looks as if I spelled both names incorrectly, but the County FOIA Officer was able to figure out what I was talking about.)

Here’s the reason for the denial:

Under the Freedom of Information Act 5 ILCS 140/7 (c), the following shall be exempt from inspection and copying:

(c) Personal information contained within public records, the disclosure of which would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy, unless the disclosure is consented to in writing by the individual subjects of the information. “Unwarranted invasion of personal privacy” means the disclosure of information that is highly personal or objectionable to a reasonable person and in which the subject’s right to privacy outweighs any legitimate public interest in obtaining the information. The disclosure of information that bears on the public duties of public employees and officials shall not be considered an invasion of personal privacy.

In accordance with 5 ILCS 140/7(c), compliance with the request would result in an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy for the individuals subject to the request.

Apparently, Jack Franks is proud of his re-cycled patronage employees. He introduced them from the podium at one point and read what a commenter wrote about last night:

And another thing, you’re also wasting money on 2-3 assistants tripping the costs to the county of having a Chairman!!!

Tell your boy and girl wonder to stop walking the room looking over citizens’ shoulders.

You are a very slick yet sleazy lot!

DO YOUR JOB and the taxpayers won’t need to pay 3 people plus legal counsel to do it for you!

You’re a disgrace, Franks!

Franks Denies Photos of His Two New Democratic Party Patronage Hires — 17 Comments

  1. No one one followed the lady who spoke in pubic comment about Mchenry Police and then Franks hurried her away to his assistant?

    You people are newbies.

No wonder why Franks is able to easily take control.

  2. Cal’s a reporter.

There’s nothing creepy about wanting to a face to the name and story.

    thats journalism folks.

Guess he doesn’t want the taxpayers to see what’s bought and paid for with their tax dollars.

    WHAT ELSE IS HE HIDING?

  3. “What else is he hiding,” should be a questions presented to Cal Skinner.

  4. Folks, Mr. Skinner could easily find a picture of Mr. Serafini by googling his name (Moderate Hardly, a journalist would know that).

Skinner himself just published the section of the title code that completely justifies denying this request.

Here’s how you know: would you be ok with him writing a story about YOU, slanted in just such a way to get angry people angrier, and putting your photo and address online?

Clearly then, it isn’t about journalism, it’s about two things: trying to intimidate Franks’ team and bogging down the county administration in processing meaningless FOIA requests.

Disagree with policies that Franks supports all you want, but this is just plain old thuggery.

Why do you think Skinner writes “stories” publishing the names and addresses of Jack’s local donors?

I’ve never see him write a story about minor donations to local Republicans.

He wants to create an environment of fear.

    Wrong is wrong.

    Own that.

  5. Obviously you are not a long-time reader.

I do campaign finance stories throughout the year.

  6. I don’t know of any self respecting person with integrity as wanting to be anything like Lying Jack Franks!

Moderate, you are obviously Lying Jack Franks trying to look like someone who gives a crap about you.

  7. Well nice job admitting I’m right about everything else, Cal.

    And no, you don’t.

You run stories about how much GOP candidates raise, or large donations, you don’t run stories with the names of local people giving GOP candidates $250 or so, like you did with Ernest and Mary Kaminski recently.

So just drop the dog whistle and walk away already.

  8. I noticed this morning that the article about District 3’s contributions lacked those of Mike Walkup.

That was because he had not filed his D-2 with the State Board of Elections when I wrote it.

That information has now been added, including a $250 contribution from yours truly.

  9. I’ve saved the pics so you have them incase their fb pages go darker than Lying Jack Franks’ soul.

    LMAO

I wouldn’t want my pictures shown if I were hired under questionable circumstances either.

  10. YIKES!

    Talk about creepy.

thanks for the pics Billy Bob.

Now I’ll know the names of the gruesome twosome wen they invade my space at the county board meetings!
