Mike Walkup

Chris Christensen, the man appointed to take McHenry County Board member and candidate Nick Provenzano place on the County Board and on the ballot showed he can raise campaign funds.

And win election.

Appointed in September, the insurance man raised $13,171.16.

To gain election, he spent $11,774.36.

Election results show Christensen running first with Walkup running 169 votes behind.

Christensen, of course, was not the target of negative messages, the way Walkup, also running for the County Board Chairmanship, was.

Walkup ran for both a District 3 seat and the County Board Chairmanship.

He raised $16,666 and spent $17,017.

Walkup received the following repportable income during the last six months of the year:

In addition Cal Skinner loaned Walkup $2,033. The loan was repaid.
