Joe Walsh Warns Trump Rally That Anti-Trump Demonstrators Are Like 2007 Tea Party Demonstrators

Anti-Trump demonstrators on the southwest side of the Woodstock Square.

Those disturbed at the loss of Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump last fall were out in force today in Woodstock.

Anti-Trump demonstrators walk along the northwest side of the Woodstock Square.

As Trump supporters rallied in the Square, opponents from all elements of the opposition were walking around the sidewalks.

A view of the Trump rally from the back.

There were more demonstrators walking around the Square than there were in the Square.

“They’re real and the anger they feel because Donald Trump got elected is real,” former McHenry County Congressman and now WIND Talk Show Host Joe Walsh said in his keynote speech.

Former McHenry County Congressman Joe Walsh warned Trump supporters not to ignore those demonstrating on the sidewalks around the Woodstock Square.

“Nobody here would know who crazy Joe Walsh is without the Tea Party Movement,” Walsh continued.

Trump supporters crowded to the front of the gazebo.

“The Democrats said, ‘It’s  not real.’

McHenry County Republican Party Chairman Sandra Salgado reminded the Trump supporters that she was the first woman to head the local GOP.

“They never took the Tea Party Movement seriously.

Young people like Christian Crociata of Crystal Lake and his girlfriend were sprinkled throughout the crowd.

“When they did, it was too late.

McHenry County College Board member Karen Tirio introduced Joe Walsh as a precursor of Donald Trump.

“Freedom’s winning.

Joe Walsh led cheers for police and those who served in the Armed Services.

“These protesters are real and they’re every bit  [as angry as we were in 2007].

The crowd paid rapt attention to Joe Walsh.

“If our side does the same thing and sit on [our] back sides while they march around the Square, [they will win.]

The Northwest Herald sent a photographer and a reporter.

“I don’t want us to make the same mistake they made seven years ago.

One of the anti-Trump protesters carried an explicit warning about what they would do in the 2018 elections.

“It’s going to take more than one election [to change Ameeria].

A reporter interviewed this Trump supporter carrying a sign saying, “Beware – News Media Lie.”

“They are loaded for bear.

There were lots of flags in the Trump crowd. This one says, “Team Deplorable.”

“And, so are we.”

The Trump rally crowd reacted favorably to Joe Walsh’s call to action.

There were cheers.

See a bit of video of the Woodstock Trump rally on WGN-TV here.

I note that the Associated Press story stresses violence and confrontation.

There was none of that which I saw in Woodstock.

I did note a young Trump supporter and an older Trump critic having a lively discussion across from the old courthouse.

There was no ranker in the discussion these members of opposite sides were having Saturday afternoon.

Joe Walsh Warns Trump Rally That Anti-Trump Demonstrators Are Like 2007 Tea Party Demonstrators — 71 Comments

  1. Yes.

    The love train was busted.

The desperation of my republican friends is pathetic.

How is the America greatness working for you?

The 2018 wave is coming our way.

    Take a listen.

    Are you prepared?

  2. Tic tock, tic tock, 2018 tic tock, tic tock, 2018.

It is the wave that will wash away the tea party republican plague in the United States’ Congress since 2011, tic tock, tic tock…

  3. Thanks for the very clarifying clarification of your nonsense.

    Tic tock, tic tock…

  4. Having joe walsh was great; but I really missed some family values advice from this honorable former member of the United States Congress.

    Tic tock, tic tock…

    Is 2018 here yet?

  5. The progressive socialists present at today’s rally will flounder because they have no place in today’s Democratic Party.

While Berners are distracted in protests and ‘the fight’ lead by the rich elite groups like the ACLU, the right wing Democratic Party will be steadfast in the actual political game.

  6. More nonsense.

    Tic tock, tic tock…

Can you hear the progressive wave coming our way?

    Tic tock…

  7. It is true.

The establishment, corporate democrats are resisting the wave too, but this is unstoppable.

Bernie Sanders addressed a crowd in Kansas a few days ago.

More than 5000 people in the middle of the winter.

You can try the socialist word all you can to scare people.

    But millennials get it.

The average age of Fox viewers is 72.

    You are disappearing fast.

    Tic tock, tic tock…

  8. More republican nonsense.

Progressives have been left out of the Democratic Party for the last 40 years, but now we are taking over.

There is not any other way to do it.

    It is called democracy.

Tic tock, tic tock, Is 2018 here yet?

  9. Damn you must be ugly Angel Llavona, you don’t get enough attention at home or anyone else! No plans on a Saturday night again?

    You’re the Party of Mean.

    We will prevail.

We don’t Boo! God at our National Conventions like you do.

  10. LOL, Cal. I think you meant rancor on your last picture.

(You must have been thinking about all the wankers when you wrote that.)

  11. Ya just got to love the predictions of which party will control the country in the future.

From the 2006 election where the Dem took control of Congress till after the 2014 election the Dem predicted the implosion of the Rep party.

Now the Rep party are saying the Dem are imploding.

Here is the historical history that is sure to be repeated again and again and again….

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divided_government_in_the_United_States

  12. I love these predictions: “…anytime in the near future”.

The year 2018 is around the corner and the town hall meetings where republican congressmen look like beheaded chickens speak for themselves.

    Tic tock, tic tock…

  13. Trying to find something interesting for me to do on Saturday night?

Perhaps we can hang out together near your computer 5 minutes before midnight to analyze the collapse of republicans in the next midterm elections.

These conservative, pseudo christians can’t tolerate dissent.

They love free speech, don’t they?

By the way, where is Marco Rubio?

    Where is Peter Roskam?

    Randy Hultgren?

    Tic tock, tic tock…

  14. God hates being booed!

I’m sure he melted in anger in Heaven during the Democratic National Convention because He likes to win, win, win.

    Or not?

    Then answer this simple question:

Why did Jesus live and die the way He did?

I’m not asking about the corporate Jesus you believe in, but the real one presented in the Scripture. Entertained by the short-sighted christianity of my McHenry county conservative brothers and sisters?

    Tic tock, tic tock…

  15. Trump WON – Hillary LOST.

    Trump is YOUR president.

Time to grow up, accept it and move on with your unhinged delusional life.

  16. Angel, how’s that “tick tock” working for you?

Seems to me that every time there is an election, either federal or state, you just keep losing more seats….

  17. Only in McHenry County could there be a Pro Trump Rally.

Walsh is right though, anti-Trump and anti-do-bathing Congress activist have taken plays from the Tea Party playbook and will come out much stronger.

  18. p.s. it really is a shame that after ONLY 45 days in office.

Some Americans feel they need to “pro” rally.

    Why?

They know the ship is taking on water!

  19. Tronald Dump is our president.

    No question about that.

Why do my conservative friends need to shout it over and over?

    A strange sense of insecurity?

Perhaps it is time to provide his birth certificate; or his academic college transcripts, among others.

Moving on to more important issues, how is Tronald Dump delivering on his promise to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act and preserve health insurance coverage for more than 20 million americans?

Here is his latest statement on this issue.

One for the ages for sure:

“Nobody knew health care could be so complicated”

    Ooops!

They have no idea, do they?

Hear the wave coming our way…tic tock, tic tock…

  20. Hey pseudo-christians!

    Today is Sunday.

Please show some patriotism, go to church, kneel down, and ask almighty God for forgiveness after the disgrace of being booed during the Democratic National Convention.

Meanwhile, we progressives will continue to offend His name marching in the streets demanding republicans in congress not to dismantle the Affordable Care Act.

  21. I remember, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.”

  22. Do not be surprised if the republican replacement to the Affordable Care Act is a 1-page bill.

Remember republicans in 2009 condemning a “thousand plus pages bill” as very suspicious?

Tic tock, tic tock…2018 are you here yet?

  23. Hey Mr. Skinner (tax-fighter champion)!

How is the littergate investigation going?

Better find who dropped that statement on walsh’s divorce soon.

I say it was an undocumented immigrant for sure.

Tronald Dump says they are rapists, bring crime, and trash our neighborhoods.

And I believe our pussy grabber in chief.

  24. Is it possible that Angel R Llavonna is one of THOSE that flew out of Pandora’s Box?

  25. “All political thinking for years past has been vitiated in the same way. People can foresee the future only when it coincides with their own wishes, and the most grossly obvious facts can be ignored when they are unwelcome.”
    – George Orwell

  26. I’m thinking one poster is responsible for 99 percent of this Democrat garbage.

  27. Llavona went from “blah, blah, blah” to “tick, tock”.

What will be the next “catch phrase”?

  28. ‘But the millenials get it’

Free free free that’s what the millenials want; everything for free while they remain jobless or underemployed in their parents’ basement.

The millenials have been brainwashed by our education system.

  29. I cannot remember a president ever needing a rally early in his administration who needed or even held rallies to prove his popularity.

This did nothing but stroke his ego.

I have never heard a Democrat or anyone else say they hate Trump.

Only Republicans accusing Dems of saying it.

I do remember the posters I saw in Topeka Kansas proclaiming that God hates Obama.

And I recall the strong rhetoric from Re[publicans about how they would fight him all the way so he ends up a one term president.

    So I say this:

    Suck it up Republicans.

If you can dish it out you should be able to take it.

  30. Millennials are not afraid of the word socialist, as Fox viewers continue to be. Millennials get their news from the Internet as they clearly see how corporate media is completely sold out to big money interests. Millennials understand how their parents were screwed during the 2008 economic meltdown that almost sent our country down the cliff. Millennials see how their future is compromised under a higher education system that gives them no choice than to get tens of thousands of dollars in debt in order to get an education. And what do my compassionate conservative friends think about them? Free stuff. Perhaps some of the free stuff big oil and big pharma get on tax breaks can be used to solve some of the problems facing this country. I mean big problems, not those like Ivanka’s clothing line accessories or perfumes at Nordstrom. Tic tock, tic tock…hear 2018 coming?

  31. A true story I must share with my compassionate, reactionary brothers and sisters. A reporter stopped Rick Perry on his way to work. Reporter- Secretary Perry, where are you heading? Rick Perry-I’m going to work. Reporter- Where at? Rick Perry-Ahhh, ehhh. mmmhhh, I’m not sure exactly, I’ll get back to you on that one. Tic tock, tic, tock, 2018 is coming.

  32. Oh, oh! Desperate compassionate conservatives trying to stop the 2018 love train. Please tell Peter Roskam and Randy Hultgren to face their constituents. We can’t wait their clever explanations on why they are supporting the elimination of the Affordable Care Act.

  33. @ Angel R. Llavona (DOB 2-June-1968)
” We can’t wait their clever explanations on why they are supporting the elimination of the Affordable Care Act.”

No need to wait for Randy and Peter. The answer to your question is simple.

Health care like Auto care and Lawn care is a ‘Good’ (something to be bought and sold) not a ‘Right’.

As Ayn Rand once wrote: There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch. Get over it or move to a workers ‘Paradise’ . Let me suggest Puerto Rico. You’d probably be more comfortable there than LITH anyway.

  34. Buah, buah, buah, buaaaaahhhhhh… My compassionate, conservative friends send you out of the country if you dare to express a different opinion. Can you feel the desperation? Tic tock, tic tock…2018 is around the corner.

  35. Let’s wait until Peter Roskam and Randy Hultgren quote Ayn Rand on the health care issue. That will be very entertaining, to say the least. To have the audacity to compare health care for all Americans with free lunch is plain immoral and irresponsible. The republican solution to the health care issue continues to be a simple one: “if you get sick, please die quickly, but do not ask me to contribute to the well being of everyone in society.” We have the right to demand our tax dollars go to take care of our own lives and health like the rest of the major, industrialized countries in the world. Republican war monger fanatics do not have a problem having nearly 60 cents of every tax dollar support a military budget with the mission of maintaining a global war empire. How about the $54 billion increase in military spending proposed by Tronald Dump? No problem with that free lunch to the military industrial complex, is it? 2018, don’t be late.

  36. Lol, what the heck is wrong with this trolling angel? Amusing to say the least.

  37. CP is right!

That poster just aged thirty years and started speaking in English.

What happened to the child that was posting before?

  38. This is for the people that like to think of themselves as progressives…

“The left, having turned its back on traditional American Judeo-Christian values, derives its illusion of righteousness from being pathologically angry at everything it disagrees with. Being very angry creates counterfeit feelings of both righteousness and strength.”…David Kupelian

  39. I’m back from church.

Like a good christian I prayed for the poor while hoping all undocumented immigrants get deported from this country as soon as possible.

    Just kidding.

Well, tea party republicans may sit back and relax as their leader Tronald Dump just announced a monstrous conspiracy from no other than our former muslim president to derail his presidential campaign by wiretapping one of his buildings.

Good job again from our president deflecting the american people’s attention on the real issues affecting our lives.

    And jeff sessions?

He’s really trying to recall what happened during those meetings.

    2018, are you here yet?

  40. To my compassionate conservative friends, it is only ok to be angry at the government if you feel you are taxed excessively or if, in your fantasyland world, you believe the propaganda that the government will take your gun away from you.

They proudly proclaim their anger as american patriotism. However, any other display of outrage, for example, facing our lawmakers when they irresponsibly take away health care coverage from millions of americans,

is considered inappropriate. Peter, where are you?

You sound very friendly in the phone.

Let’s hold that town hall meeting to honor our democracy and the republic.

    Tic tock, tic tock…

  41. Angel? The only way to win your freedom back is to stand united.

Why are you being so devisive?

You will win no one to “your side” which will leave the government free to roll over everyone.

Have some respect and stop trying to be a goon.

Tic tock my a$$. That is just juvenile!

  42. BTW Angel, that health care you are so interested in obtaining is and always was a total scam.

It was NEVER EVER about health care.

It was alway about controlling you.

    Wise up.

Breathing the chemtrailed geoengineered air, drinking the fluoride (toxic) water and eating the GMO Frankenfoods that make you sick and destroy your very DNA is a soft kill along with doctors and pharmaceuticals.

Get yourself healthy with natural things and stay away from those killer doctors with all their questionnaires and red tape.

Learn how to survive and be happy with the life you have instead of waiting for some government program to save you.

You really have a lot to learn (especially as to who is your real enemy –

Hint: It’s not the Trump administration).

  43. How is the idea of adequate health care a form of control?

    I see no reasonable argumentation.

If that is the case, let’s get rid of the entire health insurance industry.

    Nonsense.

  44. To my republican friends, a different opinion is “divisive”.

They are used to sail in this sunshine blog totally uncontested and believing their own myths about this world.

That’s why their entire existence falls apart when one person stands to differ.

The ferocious personal attacks on this line of posts speak for themselves.

And now that my republican friends set their feet into the world of intellectualism with quotes about the opposition, please allow me to share one that perfectly describes the intolerance and arrogance of some of the human beings who post in this glorious McHenry county blog.

“If we don’t believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don’t believe in it at all.”…Noam Chomsky

  45. Angel?

I don’t care for your quotee, but beyond that I heartily agree with most of that last post.

I get attacked continually for spreading truth and love.

You are getting attacked for being divisive.

I think we are all people and have much more in common that you think.

What we all rail against is the control by higher ups.

Why should we “fight” each other?

They are the ones that deserve your angst – not your neighbors that could actually help you, (unlike any government agency – that only wishes to control you).

  46. I agree with the “being united” concept of democracy.

That is why we need to stand united to fight for health care for all americans.

  47. Our real adversary is not the government.

My republican friends have been conditioned to believe our government is a perverse institution designed to control and exploit us. We have a different idea of government.

It is stated in the first line of the preamble of our constitution.

Government is about “We the people” organized in institutions that work for the achievement of the common good. It requires commitment and participation to be effective.

If the government becomes the enemy is because our apathy allows big money interests to buy and control the elected officials representing us, especially in the United States Congress.

The real enemy is unregulated business interests and the financial markets who will never cease in its quest for more power and profits, while destroying our social fabric and natural resources.

A vibrant democracy (which not necessarily means elections) is our only recourse against these threats. I close with a quote by our president and pussy grabber in chief:

    “I have great ratings”.

    Please 2018, don’t delay.

  48. More from Chomsky before taking a break.

I’m sure you enjoy Ivy league intellectualism.

“There are few genuine conservatives within the U.S. political system, and it is a sign of the intellectual corruption of the age that the honorable term ‘conservatism’ can be appropriated to disguise the advocacy of a powerful, lawless, aggressive and violent state, a welfare state for the rich dedicated to a lunatic form of Keynesian economic intervention that enhances state and private power while mortgaging the country’s future.”

  49. You will find that more people read your posts, if you separate each sentence into a separate paragraph.

  50. You will find that more people read your posts, if you separate each sentence into a separate paragraph.

  51. Angel? You start out with truths and then slide sideways into half truths and fiction. Plus the ill-tasting slur you keep repeating has nothing to do with any of this. Firstly this is NOT a democracy. Democracy is always doomed to fail. You don’t even want that, but you do not know that. I was speaking specifically of the shadow government. Not the government that started this nation, but the unbelievably corrupt cabal that is ruining lives everywhere right now. The world order that is run by the mob of pedophiles. Your other posts about church tell me that you are barking up another wrong tree. First and foremost pray for discernment and only truth. The Holy Spirit will guide you and you will be on your way to knowing; instead of falling for so many lies that are propagated onto us all Don’t be stupid, like alabama and a few of the fools that post in here. A blog is not conducive to teaching. It is for posting opinions on the tidbits Cal throws our way. Take some of the things I mentioned and do some research on those topics. Then come to your own conclusions. (For example look up Affordable Healthcare Act is not about health care and see what you find.) Do NOT believe the lies you have been fed. Find out for yourself what is truth. Wisdom will come to you if you follow these steps.

  52. Following your advice gives different emphasis on certain things. That is not a good rule to follow becaus it ruins the meter of a lot of my posts. If the folks are too stupid to follow a paragraph – so be it.

  53. The Tea Party movement arose due to opposition to specific economic policies of the Obama administration.

This current group is made up of people who are throwing a hissy fit because they unexpectedly found themselves in the political wilderness.

The only trait they all have in common is that they don’t like Trump.

I expect the coalition to fracture with time, because it is made up of groups with competing interests.

  54. Now you can see how Franks got into office in a rep. strong hold of IL… unbelievable… but now I see..

  55. Please give up on the idea that the Woodstock marchers that marched on the sidewalks around the square and carried signs that said “Hate has no home here” were bussed in, payed, or took the train back to Chicago.

Perhaps they did take the train to Crystal Lake, or Cary, or Fox River Grove.

I was there on Saturday walking the sidewalks around the square with my sign.

I live in Crystal Lake and was there with my husband and fellow Crystal Lake friend.

I recognized other marchers as friends and neighbors from McHenry County.

Just give up on the idea that these marches are made up of paid, outside protestors.

We are your neighbors and are doing this because we don’t want to see our country, health care, human rights, and the environment destroyed.

  56. Too late, Margaret, Obama destroyed health care. Under obamacare you have millions who can’t afford medical treatment because of the incredibly high deductibles.

Our country is more divided than ever, murder rates in big cities like Chicago are third-world like.

Human rights issues like the sex trade have not gone away under Obama.

Finally, it’s funny that the Democrats love the environment so much but fracking is everywhere.

Not that I believe all the garbage about fracking but Obama has done nothing for this country except make it worse.

  57. Ok ‘Margaret Sanger” but we will never give up on the fact that the protesters are all for killing babies and coddling illegals and being terrorist sympathizers and taking away from America’s own veterans, and citizens that need help over illegals gaming the system!!!

Come to think of it, we won’t give up on the idea that these people are paid protestors!

Who in their right mind, would believe those actions are right and defendable, let alone march in circles to advertise it? Sickos for sure.

    NOT MY NEIGHBORS!
