ReMax finds the following by analyzing homes sales statistics:
“March home sales activity rose in six of the seven metro counties, led by gains of 33.4 percent in McHenry, 25 percent in Will and 24.4 percent in Kane. Other gains were 17.9 percent in DuPage, 11.8 percent in Cook and 9.5 percent in Lake. Sales in Chicago were up 17.7 percent…
“For the entire quarter, McHenry County was the top performer, combining a 9.5 percent gain in sales activity with a 10.3 percent increase in the median price to $209,500.”
McHenry County home sales up 33+ % in March.

A blessed Easter to all.
Love your article, especially the comments, Honest.
Impressive.
A lot of busted narratives with those stats.
Up 33% versus the previous quarter or versus the same quarter last year?
I added a link to the article.
Are home and property sale records not maintained by the County?
Why is there no free web access to these sales?
The only property sale info I can find (government sites) is on the County Assessor website and it is only by Township up to the end of Nov. 2016 in a very ‘unfriendly’ format.
Cal, I just received the McHenry County sales information from Heartland Realty, the local Realtors organization.
According to their data, sales were up 10.3% in the first quarter of 2017 versus the same quarter of last year. The median sale price was $190,000, +6.7%.
The average sales price was $203,351, +5.4%.
So the news was good but not nearly as good as indicated in the report you received.
