Geri Davis, RIP

John Landon, husband of former McHenry County Republican Party Executive Director of Geri Davis, announces the death of his wife:

Geri Davis

“I am very sad to have to inform you that my wife Geri passed away early this morning.”Pneumonia and associated infections were the culprits.

“She had been in the hospital since last Thursday on breathing apparatus in an attempt to get oxygen levels in her blood up to proper levels.

“That effort failed at 3:45am this morning.

“She was the light of my life and I cannot now see how I will deal with the future.

“There will be a wake from 4-8 pm on Friday, June 9 at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, and a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 10 at St Patrick’s Church, 3500 Washington Street, McHenry.

“In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Church.

Please forgive the ‘mass emailing’ of this notice.

“It would be almost impossible to individually email each of you.

“And, I know I’ve forgotten many of Geri’s friends so please pass this information on.”

Davis, as mentioned above, was the long-time Executive Director of the local Republican Party.

She was the one who carried on the tradition of Play Day after Dixie O’Hara died.

What an event!

Governors, other GOP statewide officials, candidates, Illinois and local, plus all factions of the Republican Party gathered each summer to swap information, rumors and innuendo.

And the food at the McHenry Country Club, which just happened to be in Geri’s precinct, was excellent.

The last time I saw her mingling with local Republicans was at Sheriff Bill Prim’s Cary Country Club fundraiser.

  2. Going to miss you Geri.

You supported me when others did not.

    Thank you and RIP…

    My prayers for Geri’s family.

  3. Since moving to Florida 12 years ago – we’ve lost touch with John and Geri…but she was a wonderful First Lady when John Landon was Governor.

I’m sure Geri and my John (Kunzer) will have a lot to discuss.

A hug from my heart, Nikki
