Police Make Two More Arrests in Connection with Murder/Home Invasion

Sheriff Bill Prim announces the arrests of
- Adam Morris, 44, of McCullom Lake, and
- Byron Howard, 36, of Wonder Lake
in connection with the Home Invasion / Murder that occurred on May 27th, 2017.
On June 16th, 2017 the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and the McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team (MIAT), with the support of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, formally charged MORRIS and HOWARD.
MORRIS and HOWARD are the third and fourth suspects arrested in connection with the Home Invasion and Murder of Donald Jouravleff.

On May 27, 2017 a 911 call received at approximately 1 a.m. sent deputies to the 1800 block of W. Davis Avenue in unincorporated McHenry.
Deputies arrived and found the homeowner, Donald Jouravleff, had been shot.
Jouravleff succumb to his injuries later that night.
Preliminary investigation indicated two masked men were responsible for this shooting.
Investigators worked tirelessly and developed suspects in connection to this crime.
On June 16th, 2017 MORRIS and HOWARD were taken into custody.
Sheriff Prim stated; “I want to publicly thank all the officers involved in this investigation for their tireless efforts in bringing this case to it towards a final resolution.”
Additional evidence has been recovered during the course of this investigation, so the investigation still remains active by the Sheriff’s Office, McHenry City Police, and MIAT until it is all processed.
The investigation has revealed that this was a targeted incident and there is no threat to the public.
