A press release from State Senator Karen McConnaughay:
Sen. McConnaughay statement on transition of Senate Republican leadership
SPRINGFIELD – Following Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno’s recent resignation announcement, Senate Republicans unanimously elected State Sen. Bill Brady (R-Bloomington) to be the new Illinois Senate Republican Leader for the remainder of the 100th General Assembly.
State Sen. Karen McConnaughay (R-St. Charles) provided the following statement on the transition of leadership:
“I look forward to working with my colleague, Senator Bill Brady, in his new role as Republican Leader.
“At this critical juncture, I’m glad that we were able to swiftly vote in a new leader who could transition seamlessly into the role and ensure good-faith budget negotiations continue in earnest.”

This is the “leadership” of Republicans in Illinois. Do what Pat Quinn and Mike Madigan say…
This is awful news.
Karen would have been no better.
I’m not convinced he is a true conservative until I see him riding a horse while holding a shotgun…tic, tock, tic, tock…
You would have thought the GOP would have selected a new GOPer instead of unsuccessful re-treads.
Compared to what you’ve elected around here, this Bloomington Republican is Thomas Jefferson.
