Sen. McConnaughay statement on transition of Senate Republican leadership

SPRINGFIELD – Following Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno’s recent resignation announcement, Senate Republicans unanimously elected State Sen. Bill Brady (R-Bloomington) to be the new Illinois Senate Republican Leader for the remainder of the 100th General Assembly.

State Sen. Karen McConnaughay (R-St. Charles) provided the following statement on the transition of leadership:

“I look forward to working with my colleague, Senator Bill Brady, in his new role as Republican Leader.

“At this critical juncture, I’m glad that we were able to swiftly vote in a new leader who could transition seamlessly into the role and ensure good-faith budget negotiations continue in earnest.”
