Another Correction: Dems Did Not Backdate Income Tax Collections to Jan. 1st

The following graphic on the Illinois Revenue Department’s web site confused me:

I thought it referred to the 32% income tax hike the Democrats just passed.

So the information in this article is incorrect.

When asked the Revenue Department replied:

The Income Tax increases was effective July 1, 2017.

The graphic..is in regard to filing and reporting changes for Withholding Income Tax (form IL-941) that went into effect in January.

It does not relate to the tax rate change.

So, thanks to sharp-eyed reader “AlabamaShake,” who corrected that story by pointing to page 252 of the bill.
