Joe Walsh Invites Folks to Run for Office

The following missive was sent out over the internet from former Congressman Joe Walsh:

A LETTER FROM FORMER CONGRESSMAN JOE WALSH

Dear Freedom Fighters,

WalshFreedom once had an entry in the Crystal Lake Independence Day Parade.

We wanted to take a moment to remind folks in Illinois that if you believe in freedom & limited government and you are considering running for office, we have an army of volunteers for you. We are called Walsh Freedom.

Walsh Freedom is Illinois’ largest army of Conservative volunteers.

We are thousands and thousands of committed citizens from around the state who knock on doors, make phone calls, and march in parades for candidates running for office, at any level, who believe in freedom and limited government.

Walsh Freedom was launched five years ago to provide this service for candidates because often times grassroots support – real bodies on the ground – is an essential campaign ingredient most difficult for campaigns to develop.

In the past five years, we’ve helped send Conservatives to the U.S. Congress, the Illinois Statehouse, county boards, school boards, etc., etc., you name it.

We are a “Conservative army for hire,” though we don’t charge anything.

Our only goal is to get freedom-loving candidates elected at all levels of government.

Our volunteers live all over the state and we also bus volunteers around the state to do grassroots campaigning.

We have our own “precinct committeemen” in every precinct in Illinois.

We don’t do money, we don’t do strategy, we don’t do campaign advertising.

We do one thing, and one thing only: grassroots campaigning.

We are the “people” part of a campaign.

If you are running for office, at any any level, anywhere in Illinois, and you believe in freedom and limited government, and you would like a whole bunch of good, God-fearing, gun-clinging Americans knocking on doors and making phone calls for you, please reach out to us and schedule an interview.

We will make a difference in Illinois

Thank you,
Former Congressman Joe Walsh

Joe Walsh Invites Folks to Run for Office — 21 Comments

  1. From definitions on the internet:

A missive usually refers to the old-school style of hand-written communication on paper (remember that?), but these days you also might hear an email called a missive, too.

No matter how you deliver it, a missive is a message.

The noun missive comes from the Latin word missus, meaning “to send.”

  2. That’s all nice, bred; but why did you feel a need to explain Cal’s choice of words?

  3. Sunshine blogger, this call is for you. Thinking governorship? Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  4. God-fearing, gun-clinging?

How about seeking candidates that really want fiscally responsible gov that doesn’t add to the debt, unlike our two local congressional dudes?

  5. Cindy. Just being helpful. Did not know what missive meant. Had to look up definition. Would bet that many who read this blog also do not know meaning of word.

  6. Wow, bred. Just amazed. Do you really believe many? I had no idea we as a populace were that completely dumbed down.

  7. Cindy. Guess you are much smarter than me. Did not know what missive meant. But, am not dumbed down to the extent as are a majority of voters in the U.S. who last November voted for the lady.

  8. bred? You misinterpret my comment. I was genuinely shocked by you saying many. I had no idea it was that bad. I gather Cal does not know either. He would never have used a word that “most” of his readers could not comprehend. Don’t you think?

  9. @ bred winner

    What lady?

LOL. That will be the best joke on the blog all day.

  10. Anybody who has ever run for office knows that gym shoes on the ground arei the most difficult part of any campaign.

You can have the most effective message or platform in the world but if you don’t have a ground game, you might as well be whistling Dixie.

As Burgess Merideth said in Rocky, you can be the greatest fighter in the world but if you don’t have a manager, we’ll all for not.

Kudos to Joe walsh and his freedom fighters for offering their services in the cause of freedom also known as conservatism.

  11. Ground game is the new name for donors and big money. Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  12. When Clinton spent $ 1,400,000,000 and Trump spent $957,600,000 who won the election?

  13. Walsh has a new ground game going. He’s very smart and has integrity. Congratulations to him on his syndication success!

  14. A commenter stupidly asks about “what lady” in last November’s election. Everyone should know by now that only the stupid, the gullible, the useful idiots and those on the dole voted for the lady. The lady who is married to the guy who raped a woman, was impeached and who violated other women. Is there anybody in their right mind who would want this guy in the white house as the first man? Who?

  15. Remember my compassionate conservative friend asking for respect to “all US presidents?” Well, as my republican friends tear their clothes in dismay for that despicable president, I rejoice to quote our current sexual-assaulter-in-chief tronald dump who brought honor and decency to the White House; “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the p—y. You can do anything.” How about that for prodigious research? Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  16. Our Fallen Angel does not understand his compassionate conservative friends, or what their goals are. Please Pray for Him, misery does not need to last forever.

  17. That was no lady. That’s why everyone is puzzled! She is a murdering sodomite. And that’s the good part.

  18. Angel R Llavona is an English as a Second Language (ESL) in Maine Township High School District 207 in Cook County.

In his 22nd year teaching in 2016, his pensionable income from the school district was $132,720.

If he never receives another raise and retires after 35 years of service, his starting pension would be $99,540.

The $99,540 pension will increase 3% annually, so the pension will have doubled after about 24 years.

Retirement income is state income tax exempt in Illinois.

Teachers can exchange up to 340 unused sick days, for up to 2 years of service credit, to retire up to two years earlier than they would otherwise be eligible.

Based on eligibility, retired Illinois teachers also have access to the taxpayer subsidized Teachers Retirement Insurance Program (TRIP)/ Teachers’ Health Insurance Security Fund (THIS).

Even though he teaches in Cook County, McHenry County and all Illinois state income taxpayers are responsible for the TRS pension that is currently less than 40% funded.

Underfunded pensions are the biggest fiscal problem in Illinois.

But the salary hikes keep coming.
