Algonquin Motor Vehicle Deaths this Afternoon
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Anne Majewski, announced this evening that her office is investigating the deaths of 2 Algonquin women killed in a multi vehicle crash at 902 East Algonquin Road in Algonquin IL this afternoon.
Thanks to a commenter I figured out that the address was near McDonald’s, rather than near Pingree Road.
The incident occurred around 1512 pm this afternoon when the driver of a car heading eastbound crossed the centerline striking a second vehicle travelling westbound.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle was taken to Centegra Huntley Hospital where she was pronounced at 1548pm.
The driver of the car traveling westbound who was struck head on was pronounced at the scene at 1516pm.
Autopsies will be conducted tomorrow in the McHenry County Coroner’s Office. Identities of the two deceased women are being withheld pending notification of family.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team, Algonquin Police Department and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
The correct address for this incident was 902 EAST Algonquin Road, not 902 WEST. The Algonquin PD’s Nixle alert advised of a Rt. 62 closure between Sandbloom Road and Longwood Drive, which is consistent with 902 EAST. Thoughts to the families involved.
