There was more mingling, but from the photos I took, it appears I was more interested in talking to McHenry County Board members.
Having been told Thursday night that a Request for Qualifications for a firm to seek companies interested in leasing the Valley Hi Nursing Home had been posted on the County web site, I spent my time asking all attending whether they knew about that significant action before the fundraiser.
Virtually none had heard of the move by County Board Chairman to change the status of Valley Hi.
The program started with McHenry County Republican County Chairman Sandra Salgado making the pitch for unity in the Republican Party.
The next Wednesday, the lack of unity among the twenty-three County Board Republicans was evident when only nine GOP members answered the roll call for special meetings on the Valley Hi question and the patronage hires by Franks. (See “14 (13 GOP) County Board Members Boycotting Special Meetings on Patronage Hiring & Valley Hi Give Franks Victory.”)
After Salgado’s introduction the the honoree, Patrick Kenneally spoke.
Someone is looking to make a lot of money from the Valley Hi deal, hence the low profile.
Hopefully Mr. Kenneally will have someone watch that whole scenario for shenanigans.
McHenry County is well known for such.
Great picture of Herb, John and Mark.
The timing of the picture could not have been better.
Herbie, when o when will your prodigal son abandon the fleshpots and swine!?
