Harvard 21-Year Old Man Leaves Moving Pickup Truck for Back, Falls Off & Dies

Harvard Truck Death 9-9-17

McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Anne Majewski, announced this morning that her office is investigating the death of a young man who died yesterday evening, September 9, 2017, in a single motor vehicle incident in Harvard IL.

A 911 call came in at 9:35 pm. Harvard Fire and Rescue and Harvard Police responded to the scene and found the body of the young man on the road at Crowley Road 500 feet west of Harvard Hills Road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:07 pm.

Information provided to the Coroner’s Office stated that the deceased was the driver of a small truck with two other passengers in the vehicle.

The driver exited the truck while it was moving, reportedly to get into the truck bed, and fell onto the roadway sustaining fatal injuries.

An autopsy will be performed Tuesday morning in the Coroner’s Office to determine the specific injuries causing death and to obtain the necessary toxicology testing.

The two passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

The deceased is identified to be Joshua M. Trepanier, age 21, of Harvard IL.

This case remains under investigation by the Harvard Police Department and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Accident Investigation Unit was called in to assist with the investigation as well.
