Armando Masegosa

Officers arriving initially determined the victim had sustained a minor, non-life threatening stab wound to the arm, as a result of the robbery in which his wallet and approximately $400 was taken.

Crystal Lake detectives immediately initiated a criminal investigation, conducting several interviews and exploring numerous leads, while experiencing a lack of cooperation from the victim.

The Crystal Lake detectives’ investigation quickly uncovered that at around 5 PM on September 26, the victim knowingly entered a vehicle while in the 200 block of Ridge Avenue, occupied by three other males.

An altercation between the victim and male occupants soon thereafter occurred, when one of the males displayed a knife while attempting to rob the victim.

A struggle ensued as the victim was attempting to exit the vehicle.

The knife was used as a weapon to inflict minor injury during the planned robbery, resulting in the victim’s wallet, cash, and some cannabis being taken by force.

On September 27, 2017, Crystal Lake detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Armando Masegosa (18) of 216 Hickory Drive, Crystal Lake.
