Jack Franks Files Campaign Disclosure Report Late

One would think that a man who has been dealing with the filing of reports mandated by State law since 1997 would be able to meet deadlines.

However, McHenry County Board Chairman Jack Franks did not do so on Monday, October 16th.

Reports for each three months are due fifteen days after the end of the quarter.

The third quarter of the year ended on September 30th, so the deadline for filing campaign expenditures and contributions was October 15th.

Since the 15th was a Sunday, candidates were given an extra day.

As you can see from what is on the Illinois State Board of Elections web site, Franks did not file his quarterly report until the morning of October 17th:

Quarterly 7/1/2017 to 9/30/2017 10/17/2017 5:21:33 AM

Franks reported having $542,099.33 on hand.

Because this is the first violation in many years, the Committee will likely be assessed no penalty.
