Seven Years for Cocaine Conviction

DANIEL MEREGILDO-ROMERO SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE OFFENSE OF POSSESSION OF 15-100 GRAMS OF COCAINE

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Daniel Meregildo-Romero, 29, was sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Honorable Judge Sharon Prather after pleading guilty to Possession of 15-100 Grams of Cocaine, a Class 1 Felony.

On April 27, 2017, as part of an investigation, an informant, working with law enforcement, arranged to purchase cocaine from Meregildo-Romero in Woodstock.

On that date, Meregildo-Romero provided 29.36 grams of cocaine to the informant.

This case was investigated by members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

This case was prosecuted by Brian Miller of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.

  2. Meanwhile the U.S. Military continues to protect the poppy fields in Afghanistan.

    China continues to supply Mexico with the chemicals required to make the synthetic heroin which is carried across our porous borders or simply sent to drug dealers via the U.S. Postal service.

    My question remains: Where do people get the money to buy the stuff?
