Over 21,000 Kane County Tax Bills Exceed $10,000 Deductibility Threshold in GOP Income Tax Reform Plan

$10,000 is the maximum amount that income tax filers will be able to deduct in property taxes under the proposed income tax reform being pushed by U.S. House Republicans.

In McHenry County, as was reported Friday, there are 15,122 real estate taxpayers who paid more than $10,000.

Talking to Kane County Treasurer David Rickert informs me that over 21,000 real tax bills exceed the proposed $10,000 dedructibility threshold.

It is probably that the homeowners among those paying more than $10,000 in property taxes would tend to vote Republican.

    Simple way to find out:

Run a cross check between property tax data base and voter data base – compare by address.
