Number (and percentage) of precincts with a Precinct Committeeman candidate in the March 20, 2018 primary election, sorted by township and political party, as of December 18, 2017.

Alden – 1 of 1 (100%) – 0 of 1 (0%)

Algonquin – 20 of 68 (29%) – 17 of 68 (25%)

Burton – 1 of 3 (33%) – 1 of 3 (33%)

Chemung – 3 of 5 (60%) – 0 of 5 (0%)

Coral – 3 of 3 (100%) – 2 of 3 (67%)

Dorr – 10 of 14 (71%) – 5 of 14 (36%)

Total McHenry County precincts with a candidate for Precinct Committeeman in the March 20, 2018 primary:

  • Republican – 123 of 212 (58%)
  • Democrat – 62 of 212 (29%)

After petition challenges were settled, there are 14 Republican contested primaries (precincts with more than one Republican candidate):

  • Algonquin Township  -1
  • McHenry Township – 13

There is 1 Democrat contested primary, in Grafton Township.
