McHenry Man Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography

5200 block of North Pistakee Drive north of McHenry.

Jacob Fredericks, 22, of McHenry, was arrested Friday and charged with five (5) counts of Possession of Child Pornography stemming from a CyberTip received by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

On the morning of March 2, detectives from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, along with members of the Attorney General’s Office, executed a search warrant on a house in the 5200 block of Pistakee Drive in unincorporated McHenry.

An investigation was launched after the Round Lake Police Department received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

The investigation was transferred to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office after it was discovered the incident had occured in McHenry County.

“Any day we can remove from the community someone who uses or distributes child pornography I consider that a very good day,” said Sheriff Bill Prim.

“What’s more, every arrest is a warning to other users that they will be found, arrested and prosecuted.”

Fredericks was transported to the McHenry County Correctional Facility.

Bond Posted: $50,000 10%

Next Court Date: March 7th at 9:00 a.m.

The charges against this individual are merely allegations against him. All defendants are
presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
