McHenry County Clerk’s Web Site Still Down

People are voting today and here’s what shows up on my computer when I type “McHenry County Elections” in Google:

I’m still looking for the McHenry County election results for President in the Democratic Party to see how much Jack Franks’ endorsed Hillary Clinton got beaten by Bernie Sanders, but others may be searching for sample ballots.

= = = = =
Readers are looking at other parts of the McHenry County web site and concluded the problem is systemic, that is, not limited to the Clerk’s web site.

Still a pretty bad day for those wanting election information.

McHenry County Clerk’s Web Site Still Down — 31 Comments

  1. It’s those evil Russian hackers again trying to influence/overthrow
    the McHenry County primaries.
I just heard about it on CNN so you know it’s got to be the truth !

Anybody see Phat Jack lately ?

  2. It would appear you encountered an expired security certificate.

It happens frequently on the County website.
“www.co.mchenry.il.us uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate expired on Monday, February 05, 2018 5:59 PM.

The current time is Saturday, March 10, 2018 10:49 AM. Error code: SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE”

  3. This is not funny, nor to be joked about. Deep state is in a real tizzy. They are going after everyone. They are trying to shut you out. Expect more as they get closer to their end. (Think – if you won’t let us win, we will take our ball and go home.) They are frightened children that are being cornered as we speak.

  4. This site is always up and that’s what matters. Our paparazzi freeloader sunshine blogger is always one step ahead of liberal media and evil big government. Stay tuned…tic, tock, meow, meow, tic, tock…

  5. The other departments are also down. So, rather than it’s McClellan’s fault or some giant deep state Obama-Clinton conspiracy, perhaps a main server is down.

On the other hand, the Sheriff is still up, so maybe it’s a coup to impose a sheriff’s national-state. That should please the local-government fetishists.

  6. And it will stay down.

Here’s the Voting ‘outcome’ of her rigged system:

    Mary Typhoid: 79%
    Demetri: 8%
    Fuddy Wilbrandt 7%
    Boy Flavin: 6%

Gee wiz, how’d she do it?!

  7. Is anyone planning to go out and canvass voters who are recorded as filling out a ballot to determine whether or not they voted for McClellan if she garners most votes in her race?

The question could be: County records indicate you voted in the recent primary, did you vote for McClellan for judge? If the answer is no just one more time than the number of votes recorded for her, the election could be contested.

  8. You could override the security exception but if you do, be aware: “THE CERTIFICATE IS NOT CURRENTLY VALID. IT MAY HAVE BEEN STOLEN OR LOST AND COULD BE USED BY SOMEONE TO IMPERSONATE THIS SITE.

I think it is time to call DHS and ask for an investigation by the FBI.

    – The County website is now suspect.

  9. Nothing really sinister, just a change in Google’s procedures.

For example, clicking on the small “i” at the start of McHenryCountyBlog’s URL address line will show “Connection is not secure.”

All that means is the site does not have a SSL certificate.

Yes, there are some minor security issues but my thought it it’s just another way for the hosting companies to make money.

  10. And “Google” procedures are not suspect? I could almost laugh at that if it wasn’t from the so seriously deluded. You people are a joke when you make excuses. You are being attacked and you just cannot believe anyone would do that on purpose. this is how you end up with people like McClellan and Franks running your lives. Trying to make you wake up is a totally thankless job.

  11. Re: “Nothing really sinister, just a change in Google’s procedures.”

Oh! That is why Mozilla flat out refuses to connect under those circumstances, right?

Just what does Google have to do with security certificates on a public website?

Comments like the one by Zielinski make the internet a dangerous place.

Re: “Trying to make you wake up is a totally thankless job”

    Correct but we gotta try.

  12. I tried, late last night, to find the early voting sites and page could not be found, both on the NWHerald clerk’s voting advertisement that said “click here” and on the County website.

  13. Try this if you don’t want to believe me. The world is NOT run how you think. If you cannot recognize The corruption going on right underneath you I do not know how you are going to survive.

  14. Mr. Zielinski, you are scary. My post had nothing to do with Chrome.

Do yourself a favor, don not comment on what you appear to know nothing about.

I, along with about a billion other users do not use Chrome.

  15. Anyone that uses Chrome is a fool. It is perhaps THE most dangerous operating platform to date. I warned against this many years ago when I still was on social media platforms. No one wanted to listen to the truth then, either.

Al? Do you understand the link has to do with everything? Put the dots together!

  16. I must say that THIS post does appear to be an attack post against the current clerk.

The entire county site is down, not just the County Clerk’s.

While I am not a fan of her, lets at least play fair.

  17. The warning said expired security certificate, and that is the most likely explanation.

However, I’ve seen time issues trigger all kinds of seemingly unrelated warnings.

Some places set their servers to local time rather than UTC, and the impending time change might be causing a hiccup.

It will be interesting to see if the problem resolves itself by tomorrow.

  18. I only sought informqation from the County Clerk’s web site.

  19. There was a letter to editor in the local newspaper recently by a lady who said that the changing of some polling places was “voter suppression”.

We got far left winger equivalents right here in McHenry County.

  20. @ Cal, But yet you do not correct or pull it down. Again I am NOT a Mary fan and will NOT be voting for her, but you are truly showing your political side.

  21. Cal, once agin your ‘reporting’ is bs. Even with your limited following, you still need to throw out the raw meat to entice your ‘followers’. most of whom are …well i don’t need to say. Juste read the comments and their beliefs are very clear.

Cal, you are a weak little liar who has been a loser since you road your Dad’s coattails to a short, but well rewarded political flash. oh. I forgot your pension that we all pay for each year that you breath puts you in the top 10% of Illinois earners.

You knew darn well all the sites were down, but you ‘played’ dumb. Easy role for you, liar.

  22. Dear casual reader of this sunshine blog: From the stories you see posted here and the comments that follow you may think our sunshine blogger is some sort of irresponsible charlatan or something like that. Nothing further from the truth. McHenry county has the distinguished honor of been bestowed of the privilege of this sunshine blog, which keeps our citizenry informed on issues related to republican fundraisers, useless old political campaign signs, cat and other felines, beautiful shotguns, mugshot reports, union-trashing stories, and many, many others. Let’s be thankful of our sunshine blogger, a loser politician who degenerated into the realms of libertarianism and gave us this sunshine blog. Stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, meow, meow, meeeeooowww…

  23. In case anyone has not noticed: “This is a journal of news and opinion designed to bring to light matters of public interest and to encourage public participation in the governmental process.”

The County site is now available – clocks changed last night.

That said, the Director of MIS for the County should be replaced – IMO.

  24. As a matter of fact, I did not know all the sites were down.

All I looked at was the County Clerk’s site.

  25. Hey Bob Wire – looks like it’s working again. Been down all weekend!

    Cal – what’s the story?

The message that popped up appeared to be a fatal error of some kind.

  26. Apparently our Tech Guy figured out how to resurrect McHenry County Blog.

    Thanks to him.
