A press release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department:

Social Media Comments Lead to Arrest of Harvard Man on Unrelated Drug Warrant

Late last week, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office social media sites began receiving comments of a racially derogatory nature from a single person.

Jack Hoschouer

Investigators identified Jack D. Hoschouer, 20, as the source.

Further investigation revealed that Hoschouer had also publicly posted photographs of illegal narcotics, weapons and United States Currency, which in turn led to the fact that he had an active arrest warrant pending in an unrelated incident.

On April 18, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Narcotics Task Force (which includes Task Force Officers from Lake in the Hills PD and McHenry City PD) and the U.S. Marshal’s Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Hoschouer on the warrant in his home in the 400 block of Cobblestone Road in Harvard.

When he was taken into custody, officers observed numerous items related to narcotics sales and use in plain view and a search warrant was granted for the residence.

At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives seized

  • $10,974 USC;
  • 539.75 grams of cannabis;
  • 11 grams of cannabis wax (which contains high concentrations of THC);
  • digital scales;
  • packaging materials; and
  • drug paraphernalia.

The estimated street value of the illegal drugs seized was $10,800.
