13-Year Heroin Intent to Deliver Sentence

BRIAN M. FREUND SENTENCED TO 13 YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE OFFENSE OF POSSESSION OF 15-100 GRAMS OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DELIVER

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Brian M. Freund, 31, was sentenced to 13 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Honorable Judge Sharon Prather after pleading guilty to Possession of 15-100 Grams of Heroin with Intent to Deliver, a Class X Felony.

On July 26, 2016, members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at Freund’s residence in McHenry as part of criminal investigation into the illegal distribution of heroin by Freund in McHenry County.

While in Freund’s residence, deputies found large amounts of heroin, and numerous items that used in the packaging, distribution, and sale of heroin.

This case was investigated by members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit. This case was prosecuted by John Gibbons, Chief of the Criminal Division of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
