David C. Stone Dies in Algonquin Vehicle Crash

A press release from the McHenry County Coroner:

McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Anne Majewski, announced this afternoon that her office is investigating the death of a Huntley man who died this morning after an SUV versus Minivan collision at Algonquin Road and Haligus Road in Huntley, Illinois.

Huntley Fire and Rescue and Huntley Police responded to the scene after a 911 call was made at 0611 this am.

The deceased driver of the SUV (found facing north on Haligus Road) was pronounced dead at the scene at 0645 am.

He is identified to be David C. Stone, age 51, of Huntley, Illinois. The driver of the minivan (found facing west on Algonquin Road) was taken to Centegra Huntley Hospital. The condition of this driver is unknown to my office at this time.

An autopsy was performed this afternoon on Mr. Stone. Final cause of death is pending additional studies.

The crash remains under investigation by the Huntley Police Department and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.

    Has there been an update on the cause of the accident and death of Dave?

    Dave was a long time co-worker and then friend.

    But also, I live in the Southwind subdivision as well and would like to understand more of the details of the event and its ultimate determination of cause.
