What Did Taxpayers Get for Their 2016 School Taxes

So far, we’ve been looking at where money spent on schools has gone.

Today, we look at what taxpayers got for the property taxes in 2016.

it is interesting that Crystal Lake High School District 155–the school district with the highest average salary–has 31% of its graduates taking remedial community college classes.

Johnsburg is highest at 45%, yet is also is highest in 8th graders passing algebra–95.4%.

Lowest is Algonquin’s District 300, which has the lowest percentage of its budget going toward teacher salaries.

  1. D155 is proof that teacher salary does not equal results. If anything, it drives the wrong types of individuals to these positions.
