Scott Jacobson Joins McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office

SCOTT I. JACOBSON JOINS MCHENRY COUNTY AS ASSISTANT STATE’S ATTORNEY

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, is pleased to announce that Scott Jacobson has joined the Office as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Civil Division.

Scott graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from Union College and completed his Juris Doctor at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois.

During law school, Mr. Jacobson clerked for the Cook County State’s Attorneys Office.

Scott brings valuable experience from the Illinois Appellate Court and the Office of the State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor (ILSAAP).

At ILSAAP, Scott served as a special prosecutor, and handled civil and criminal litigation throughout the state.

From 2015-2018, Scott clerked for the Justice Susan F. Hutchinson of the Second District Appellate Court.

In addition, Scott has holds various leadership positions in the Appellate Lawyers Association and the McHenry County Bar Association Board of Governors, where he is the Legislative & Supreme Court Rules Committee Chair.

He was formerly a member of the McHenry County Zoning Board of Appeals.

Scott and his family live in Woodstock.
