Algonquin Township Road District Abolition Referendum on Wednesday Algonquin Township Board Agenda

Rachael Lawrence

Algonquin Township Trustee Rachael Lawrence has emailed Supervisor Chuck Lutzow asking that the following item be included in Wednesday night’s Algonquin Township Board meeting:

An Algonquin Township Highway Department “Bullshit Deflector” worn by  Mike Tauler, a critic of Road Commissioner Andrew Gasser, at the June Board meeting.

“Decision to draft and adopt resolution to create referendum allowing voters to abolish the Algonquin Township Road District.”

Lutzow has told Lawrence that her request is being granted.

McHenry County Board Chairman Jack Franks has repeatedly urged that Township Board to put such a referendum on the ballot.

McHenry Township’s Board has already done so, but Franks has not yet endorsed the passage of such a consolidation referendum.

The meeting starts at 7 PM

  1. Gasbag’s days as commish are numbered, with or without dissolving the commissioner’s office.

  2. Should such a referendum pass in either Algonquin or McHenry Township, the current Highway Commissioners would serve out their terms.

  3. It’s a good day whenever Rachael gets these angry Township circus seals barking.

  4. If the Road District is abolished, the Board will probably hire Booby or one of his sons in law to take care of the roads.

What was old is new again.

  5. If Andrew Gasser volunteers to resign within six months of the vote, I’d go speak at the board meeting for quick passage.
