Unlawful Possession of Child Pornography Arrest
On Friday, July 13, 2018, at approximately 6:00am, the Crystal Lake Police Department, with the assistance of the Illinois Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC)Task Force Unit and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), executed a search warrant at 590 Somerset Lane, Unit 3, Crystal Lake, subsequent to an investigation being conducted regarding the unlawful possession of child pornography.
The matter initially came to the attention of the Crystal Lake Police Department through the ICAC Task Force, of which the Crystal Lake Police Department is a participating member, prompting an immediate investigation.
Anthony Franklin
The Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit conducted the investigation, which culminated in the issuance of a search warrant for the residence of Anthony T. Franklin* (37), of the above noted address.
Following the search of his residence, and based upon the evidence recovered thus far, Anthony Franklin was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
- 3 counts of Unlawful Possession of Child Pornography- Class X Felony, 720ILCS 5.0/11-
20.1(a)(2) - 1 count of Unlawful Possession of Child Pornography- Class 1 Felony, 720ILCS 5.0/11-
20.1(a)(2) - 4 counts of Unlawful Possession of Child Pornography- Class 2 Felony, 720ILCS 5.0/11-
20.1(a)(6) - 3 counts of Unlawful Possession of Child Pornography- Class 3 Felony, 720ILCS 5.0/11-

Anthony Franklin was confined at the McHenry County Jail where he currently remains in custody in lieu of a $200,000 bond.
His next court date is scheduled for July 17, 2018.

Why do so many people scream for personal freedoms, but fight against any freedom they deem inappropriate or immoral? The hate and division between neighbors is more problematic. The hate just on this website is frightening and anxiety-inducing. Much name calling and so little listening. Keep drawing lines in the sand, the tide will always win.
