Village of Algonquin Union Dues Situation

Algonquin Village Hall

The Village of Algonquin has eighty-eight union employees.

Their union and numbers of individuals follow:

  • Metropolitan Alliance of Police, Chapter 78 – 38 members
  • Metropolitan Alliance of Police Algonquin Civilians, Chapter 183 – 6 members
  • International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150 – 44 members

The 2017 amounts paid in union dues follows:

  • MAP – $14229
  • MAP, Civilians – 2,139
  • Local 150 – $70,239.69

As of June, 2018, Local 150 members pay $12,75 per pay period, regardless of income.

Metropolitan Alliance for Police members had their dues increased to $36 per month this past February.

The Village has no “Fair Share” employees.

  4. Employees don’t pay one cent in workman’s compensation. That’s an employer’s cost 100%. And as to social security and Medicare. 7.65% of wages paid by employee and an equal match paid by employer.
