EDGAR SIVAJA SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that 41-year-old Edgar Sivaja of Wonder Lake, Illinois, was sentenced to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Judge Sharon Prather for the offense of Domestic Battery (Subsequent Offense).

In October of 2017, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence for a check on well-being.

Investigation revealed that Sivaja had struck a victim with a belt.

At the time of the offense, Sivaja was on parole for a prior domestic incident with the same victim.

This case was investigated by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Randi Freese.
