State Police Investigating Credit Card Expenditures of Lake County Board Chairman

When McHenry County Sheriff Bill Prim declared that he had a conflict of interest in the investigation of Algonquin Township Road Commissioner Bob Miller’s credit card charges (because Prim had supported Miller’s re-nomination for the office), he turned the matter over to the Illinois State Police.

The State Police did squat, so McHenry County State’s Attorney took over the probe.

When the Lake County State’s Attorney asked for help in the investigation of  Lake County Board Chairman Aaron Lawlor’s official credit card, there was a different story, according to the Daily Herald:

  1. One of Chairman Franks first acts on being elected was to invite Chairman Lawler to speak to the McHenry County Board, at which he touted Lawler’s achievements in Lake County.

    This article indicates that he has a drug addiction problem which has bankrupted him and he has been on “leave” from the County Board.

    It is not clear if he is still be paid or not.

  2. Dear Lake County States Attorney, could you ask the ISP to investigate Miller?

    Our States Attorney didn’t do his job.

    Maybe you can show him how it’s done?

    What will it take to get our money back and justice served?
