Nine Years for Criminal Sexual Assault of a Girl

ANDRES S. GAMEZ SENTENCED TO NINE YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE OFFENSE OF CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Woodstock’s Andres S. Gamez, age 37, pled guilty to the offense of Criminal Sexual Assault, a Class 1 Felony, following a negotiated plea on September 5, 2018, before the Honorable James S. Cowlin.

He was sentenced to nine years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

By statute he will have to serve 85% of his sentence.

His sentence will be served concurrently with a seven year sentence he received in Wisconsin for a similar charge.

Between the dates of May 21, 2014 and January 31, 2015, the defendant committed an act of sexual penetration upon a minor child by inserting his finger in the minor child’s vagina.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Victor Escarcida of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office and investigated by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
