Look at this notice from the McHenry Police Department from early yesterday afternoon:

Traffic is very congested near the VFW. Please use caution and watch for pedestrians.

Due to the very large jackpot at the McHenry VFW, the area is extremely flooded with traffic.

More traffic than usual.

This IS causing delays and we have several officers trying to assist the VFW for this event.

Parking will be hard to find.

Please do not park in private business lots, driveways or where there are “no parking by police order signs”.

Roads must be clear for emergency vehicles.

Find safe local parking, even if it means a bit of a walk.

Municipal lots on Green St. are open and you can access the North side of Il Rt 120 to utilize crosswalks and sidewalks.

If you need to get home and don’t plan on going to the VFW, please find an alternate route.
