CL Heroin Salesman Gets Four and a Half Years

PAUL BENZINGER PLEADS GUILTY TO POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DELIVER

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Paul Benzinger, 30, of Crystal Lake, pled guilty to Possession of Heroin with Intent to Deliver (1-15 grams), a Class 1 Felony, before the Honorable James Cowlin.

An investigation conducted by members of the McHenry Country Sheriff’s Department led to the discovery of approximately 3.6 grams of heroin in 36 bags packaged for sale or delivery during a traffic stop in Crystal Lake.

Benzinger was sentenced to 4 ½ years in the Illinois Department of Corrections pursuant to the plea.

This case was investigated by members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department.

This case was prosecuted by Robert Ladd of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
