Ninety Percent of District 155 Graduates Continuing Their Education

2018 Prairie Ridge High School graduation

Ninety percent of graduates in the class of 2018 are continuing their studies at four-year colleges, two-year community colleges, and vocational and technical schools.

Over 60 percent of students are pursuing degrees at four-year colleges and universities.

The class of 2018 will continue its studies at post-secondary institutions in 42 of the 50 states.

Two students plan to continue their education internationally in Scotland and Germany.

McHenry County College, Illinois State University, and the University of Illinois Urbana – Champaign are the top three schools the class of 2018 will attend this fall.

Students are most interested in studying health/non-medical science, business, and engineering.

Forty-one students plan to serve in the armed forces.

Ninety percent of students say their experiences in school allowed them to learn more about themselves and their personal aspirations.

“We are focused on the student experience and by offering our students a chance to explore a variety of classes and extracurriculars, our students are finding their passions.

“They are prepared to succeed beyond high school, and we are so proud of them,” said Steve Olson, superintendent.

Eighty-nine percent of the class of 2018 participated in at least one extracurricular activity.

  • 34% – Arts
  • 43% – Academic
  • 64% – Athletics

Sixty-six percent participated in volunteer/community service project not sponsored at school. There were 1,529 graduates in the class of 2018.

Community High School District 155 has conducted a uniform, district-wide senior survey for the last 11 years.
