Tobin Endorses McHenry Township Road District Consolidation Vote

Here is an endorsement letter of the McHenry Township Road District consolidation referendum from Jim Tobin to Bob Anderson:

October 12, 2018

Bob,

I am very pleased to enthusiastically endorse your organization, Citizens For Consolidation. We need more non-partisan grassroots organizations like yours that have the objective of reducing the size and cost of Illinois’ 7,000 governments.

I support your goal of consolidating the McHenry Township Road District into McHenry Township.

Few people know that a Township and a Township Road District are two individual units of government, each with its own taxing authority.

Of the 1,433 Illinois townships, McHenry Township is the only township that has a binding question on the ballot that states,

“Shall the Road District of the Township be abolished with all rights, powers, duties, assets, property, liabilities and responsibilities, being assumed by the Township of McHenry?”

This is a very special and important election.

I also urge taxpayers to look up your Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Citizens-for-Consolidation-627645054277226/

Please keep me apprised of your efforts.
