TYLER ARCOS SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE OFFENSE OF AGGRAVATED CRIMINAL SEXUAL ABUSE

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that 21-year-old Tyler Arcos of Crystal Lake, IL, was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the offense of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

The defendant also must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

In the fall of 2017, the Crystal Lake police department began investigating the defendant for soliciting naked photos of teenage girls via social media sites and e-mail.

This led to the discovery that the defendant, who was 21 years old, had sexual contact with one of the minor girls he was
soliciting pictures from.

The victim, who was 15 years old at the time, disclosed that the defendant touched her in a sexual manner.

Under the sex offender registration guidelines, upon his release from the department of corrections, the defendant must register his address and place of employment with law enforcement for the rest of his natural life.

This case was investigated by the Crystal Lake Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Michael Combs and Rita Gara.
