Praise for Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit from Chicago Crime Commission

Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force Recognized for Exemplary Work

Last week the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force comprised of members from the

  • Lake in the Hills Police Department
  • McHenry Police Department,
  • Woodstock Police Department and
  • the Illinois National Guard

received the Law Enforcement Excellence by a Task Force Award. This award was presented by the Chicago Crime Commission.

On Wednesday, November 28, 2018 the Chicago Crime Commission hosted their annual Stars of Distinction Awards Event.

During that event awards were presented to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies who have made a significant contributions to crime fighting.

Our Narcotic’s Task Force was awarded the Law Enforcement Excellence Award in recognition of their exceptional collaboration and performance of combating illegal drug operations and Drug Induced Homicide Investigations.

In 2017 through June of 2018 our Task Force seized more than two million dollars’ worth of drugs resulting in over 200 arrests. Including homicide charges and seized 4,500 grams of heroin.

“I am proud of, as we all should be of these officers and their agencies for their commitment to combat illegal drug activity throughout McHenry County,” said Sheriff Bill Prim.
