Mike Skala

Grafton Township Republican Party Chairman Mike Skala has been elected Vice Chairman of the McHenry County Board for the next two years.

The position of Vice Chairman of the McHenry County Board has been a largely ceremonial position for the past two years under Jack Franks.

That has not always been the case.

When Jim Heisler was Vice Chairman under Tina Hill’s Chairmanship, Heisler  acted in her place during her leave of absence.

Two years age, Crystal Laker Jeff Thorsen was elected over Democratic Party Jack Franks’ recommendation of Mary McCann.

Seven of the members from whom Thorsen received support last year are no longer County Board members.

The vote for Skala was unanimous.
