Unless there is a successful write-in campaign for the Village Presidency of Lakewood, Trustee Phil Stephan will succeed interim President Carl Davis.
No one else filed for the two-year term to complete the term won by Paul Serwatka in 2017.
Stephan was Serwatka’s closest ally on the Board.
One person running for the one two-year Trustee slot will come from these two candidates:
- Patrick Rexroat
- Pamela Eddy
Four-year term candidates for three seats are
- Doug Ulrich
- Brian Augustine
- Ryan Burman
Augustine, Rexroat and Ulrich are appointed incumbents.
Phil is a straight shooter who gets things done.
Lakewood will have an excellent Village President.
Congratulations.
Couldn’t happen to a better person
Congratulations to Phil and to the Village of Lakewood.
He will accomplish so much, you may need to have a bigger village to develop.
Congratulations again on a very competent man.

If the population of Lakewood reaches 5,000, taxpayers will be saddled with a Lakewood Police Pension Plan.
Now, police are in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, which is well-funded because of mandatory funding which started in the late 1960’s.
The only alternative to avoiding a police pension fund which I can envision is contracting with the Sheriff’s Department, whose officers are also in IMRF.
