WBBM-TV reports on a 21-year old McHenry County woman’s visit to Las Vegas who had her cell phone stolen.
That resulted in unauthorized credit card purchases, plus withdrawal of $2,000 from her checking account at Chase Bank.
The credit card companies absolved her from the fraudulent purchases, but Chase Bank refused to return the $2,000 to Gabrielle Betancourt.
The story reports,
“And their reason was it was on the same phone that had been used by me before,” she said…
“It’s unclear how the phone thief was able to access all of her accounts, but Betancourt said she saves her passwords on her phone.”
