A Friend of McHenry County Blog has put in a LOT of work on categorizing the campaign contributions to Jack Franks. What you see below is a best effort to extract the names of businesses other than lobbyists from filings made with the Illinois State Board of Elections.
If you see any that are not businesses, please identify them in the comment section.

Wow, this is rally meaningless, someone need to get a life!
Brilliant work!
Well done.
The list to cross reference each time one considers purchasing a good or service.
This is one way to strangle this idiots ability to do the predictable and awful political maneuvering he has enjoyed the freedom to do.
Make the weak stick go running to daddy or Big Daddy Madigan for financial support.
Strain the resources used for lying to the point of financial collapse if you can.
Pfizer isn’t going anywhere soon but Lang?
There are probably better dealerships from which to purchase cars.
Next steps are to track the ownership of many of these businesses to see if they live in McHenry County.
What is their motive to bring the Chicago Way to our county?
Following the money is a huge step in the right direction.
Brilliantly done.
294 separate businesses and just over $622,000.
Hell, that amount alone could pay his salary for almost 8 years.
Nice to see that Sears could make a donation on their way out of business.
You
were
all
warned……………………….
Absolutely disgusting!
How much money does he need?
And you try to tell me that he and the others are not beholden to these contributors.
Woodstock Motel, LOL!
Write your own story!
Anyway, wonder how they all like him now, bringing Chicago style sleaze a la Madigan and Federally charged Ed Burke to McHenry County !?
I will be cross-referencing this list for future purchases.
TY to who did all the work.
Though I appreciate the list I know of some of these businesses that donated years ago and would not support him anymore.
With the years next to them would be more helpful.
Ever wonder what Thelen Sand & Gravel got for their $18,900?
Maybe the ability to have the Village of Lakemoor annex 176 acres of McHenry Township farmland, woodlands and meadows so Thelen could expand their operations and begin mining RIGHT NEXT to the backyards of people in McHenry Township without the least bit of opposition to Lakemoor’s actions from McHenry County.
Of course Thelen has also been generous with Campaign contributions to other politicians who should have been protecting the interests of the unfortunate people in McHenry Township (i.e. Althoff, etc.)
I found it interesting that “Worker’s Comp Chicago, LLC” (no matter how you search it) doesn’t appear to be a registered LLC with the Illinois Secretary of State’s corporation index.
Could contributions from that non-entity be just a cruel joke played upon everyone from somebody in Chicago that controls a great deal of worker’s compensation funds in Chicago?
Boycott them!
I will never dine at Crandall’s again!
PS: I don’t like greasy chicken anyway!
My wife does, but now we have a splendid reason never to go again.
Thanks for publishing this!
I’m printing up a list for my church.
They are supporting a rotten politician who advances same-sex ‘marriage’ and abortion, and of course sanctuary state status and higher property taxes!
dentbla: you are the meaningless poster!
Are you paid by Franks?
Ya’ll do realize that these could be contributions from employees at these businesses, and not contributions from the businesses themselves, right?
Jude Schmidt head of the Marengo Library Board. Dujmoich is also a middle school board member.
Very disappointed in some of these railroad contributions.
Is that even legal?
I am printing this too. what a disappointment.
This is great work and so grateful that it’s been done.
It’s a target list.
Is it safe to assume Breaker Press won’t be donating anymore?
Maybe the flow will be reversed?
Bibleboy,
Your church is tax-exempted, right?
Asking for a friend.
Re: Comment referencing “Worker’s Comp Chicago, LLC””
As shown during the Tirio lawsuit, the State Board of Elections does not cross-reference expenditures to reporting entities.
Unless someone files a lawsuit or files an official complaint with the State, verification of content of Campaign Finance reports are not verified by the Board of elections.
There are certainly companies who donated that no longer do so.
One could ask them or look up their names under “contributions” on the State Board of elections website:
https://elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/ContributionsSearchByAllContributions.aspx
The Johnsonburger: I checked and be advised those donations were made by a previous owner.
The list piqued my curiosity so I also took a look at the details. As Cal mentioned it is obvious there is very little consistency in the donations outside of unions, lawyers and some PACs.
Most contributions are a one time or a two time event over the past twenty years.
In addition, it is good to remember that so-called Republicans like Pam Althoff and Barb Wheeler were openly touting to business and others that the LIAR was more Republican than some Republicans.
Just recently look at how Tryon and Koehler totally ignored the current GOP and worked with the LIAR to replace Wilcox on the County Board.
The LIAR appears to have had the McHenry County old guard GOP in his pocket for a long time.
This past election should provide adequate evidence that the LIAR has one goal: Make the Democrat Party a majority in McHenry County.
It’s a good thing that Republicans don’t take money from businesses and instead rely on small money individual contributions. (SARCASM)
Alliance Contractors:
Several ownership entities show up on public records in relation to The untaxed parcels of land across from Walmart in Woodstock, included in TIF 2: Amcore invstmnt grp NA 1703,and 1st Natl bank 1705, Ruth, Alliance Contractors, Cheers Holdings LLC., but all seem to have a common thread.
The land encompasses:
1. Vacant large build-able acreage across from Woodstock Walmart, zoned commercial or industrial, paying zero property taxes (without any public records on Treasurer Site, but Athena GIS lists past 5 years of zero taxes), PINs 13-16-126-009 through 13-16-126-019.
Exception is parcel 13-16-126-014 which has buildings on it: land assessed at $44,000 EAV (also seems to apply to parcel -013, which also has buildings on it but is not taxed).
Land area Roughly the size of WALMART lot (13-16-201-008) assessed $800,000 EAV. Adjacent to American Community Bank (13-16-128-001),perhaps 1/10th the area, land/lot assessed at $209,000.
2. Just north of these vacant parcels are Alliance Contractors parcels.

That property looks like no more than 133% area of Alliance property, across the street.(NOT including the property Alliance appears to own directly across from Walmart (which is Alliance land taxed at zero on vacant parcels)).
The assessed Land EAV for MLCFC property (which sold for $12,850,000 in 2007) is $313,772. The Total EAV for that property is $933240.
The assessed Land EAV for Alliance Contractors property (listed above) is $156750.
Before you gather the boycott mob, remember that businesses- and lawyers especially – face pressure to donate to campaigns.
Politicians may not knock on your door, but presence and absence from donor lists is noted.
You’d have to do the work, but if you look at other political contributions of these donors, you’ll find a lot who have given far more to Republicans over the years than to Democrats.
It’s simply reality.
Conservative-owned businesses in Cook give money to Democrats.
Liberal-owned businesses donate to Republicans out here.
Martin, don’t try to push the divisive notion of D v.R
It is the political class v. taxpayers.
The political class includes them all.
It is high time for action, any legal action whatever, in self defense against this predatory sociopath political class.
Re: “Ya’ll do realize that these could be contributions from employees at these businesses, and not contributions from the businesses themselves, right?”
Based on what I found in the Election Board website it would appear these are mostly contributions in the name of the business.
Bottom line is that we have way too much money changing hands in the election process.
The idea to restrict campaign financing to only contribute to a candidate if you can vote for that office is my opinion a good idea.
Unions, PACs and businesses should not be permitted to make contributions – only registered voters in their own name.
I have seen where money collected from the Firemen in this State was sent to fund a campaign in Alaska!!
It is out of control.
Those are your tax dollars being sent to Alaska.
Susan, you read my post carelessly. The point of what I wrote is that businesses feel the need to contribute to whomever is in power, regardless of the party affiliation -or lack thereof – on either side. Read it again.
“The idea to restrict campaign financing to only contribute to a candidate if you can vote for that office is my opinion a good idea.”
Maybe, but that is many steps beyond the reversal of the Citizens United decision.
Re: ” many steps beyond the reversal of the Citizens United decision.”
Absolutely!
It would end the use of taxpayer dollars given to public sector unions to elect ‘union friendly’ candidates.
Citizens United simply leveled the playing field.
If you are a resident of Illinois, tell me you have no problem with your tax dollars being sent to Alaska.
“The idea to restrict campaign financing to only contribute to a candidate if you can vote for that office is my opinion a good idea.”
Maybe, but that is many steps beyond the reversal of the Citizens United decision.
The supreme court has already ruled that money is a form of political speech.
