Environment Defenders Offer Seminar on Lobbying

From the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County:

Environmental Advocacy Workshops offered

Woodstock, IL – January 21, 2019 – The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County is offering two opportunities to the community to become more engaged with environmental advocacy through workshops designed to highlight both local and state levels of engagement on issues that affect our environment and how to stay informed and advocate.

PLEASE join us for our third Environmental Advocacy Workshop on January 31.

The goal of this workshop, and one more following on February 27 at The Green Read Book Store, is to give an overview of how to advocate for the environment at local meetings and through filing witness slips for state-wide bills that affect our county.

We will be holding the workshop at Huntley Public Library, 11000 Ruth Rd, beginning at 6 PM on January 31st.

Our speakers are

  • Kim Hankins, Director of the Sustainability Center at McHenry County College
  • Environmental Defenders’ First Vice-President
  • Nancy Schietzelt, Environmental Defenders’ Second Vice-President
  • Defenders’ Executive Director, Cynthia Kanner.

Please email your RSVP to envirodefmc@gmail.com by Tuesday, January 29 with Advocacy Workshop in the subject line.

Founded in 1970, The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County is a non-profit, membership organization dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the environment in McHenry County.
