In a meeting whose public session was devoted to considering bills of the Road District, the Algonquin Township Board refused to approve a $56 bill for what sounded like restraunt bills, plus $107,000 for salt purchased from Compass Minerals.
The reason for not paying the salt bill, according to Trustee David Chapman, was that not purchased through “a bidding process.”
Ask Rebecca Miller and her Dad
They used to navigate the $$$$ for salt
Oh and Canada
Is Anna Millers daughter still following her lead
There clothes must need updating
The Township Board should be impeached, starting with Krazy Kat Rachel.
Salt was purchased illegally, the SA or somebody needs to deal with that purchase directly so the board can legally pay for what was used.
Gasser and Compass Materials should have known the purchase without a bid is a no no.
If you watched the last two Township live streamed meetings, you’ll know that the bills had to be tabled because they didn’t have enough detail to approve them then.
Postponing it wastes the board’s time and energies.
Board members shouldn’t have to ask for the detail on the meeting day, that should be available without asking.
Seems clear to me that there needs to be some procedural reforms and standards in place.
Holding elected officials accountable is a nice idea, as always it’s up to the elected officers to make them accountable no matter what!!.
Common Sense, you’re right. But why do we need this useless layer of misgovernment in the first place?
Townships make zero sense.
Iowa realized in the 50s and got rid of them.
Common Sense,
Did the trustees try and get clarification before the meeting?
As far as we all know Gasser is the only highway commissioner who puts his bills online, not only for the trustees, but for everyone to see.

We have not seen any childish behavior from the highway commissioner but the trustees, supervisor, and the clerk have made a mockery of what needs to happen.
It is so shameful the clerk refuses to put Miller’s bills online like Andrew does with his.
Stay strong Andrew.
We know you are not perfect but last we checked you didn’t buy Cardigan sweaters or put your kids on a trip to NOLA.
