Attorney General Says DCFS Denial of Request for Disciplinary Records for AJ Caseworkers Carlos Acosta and Andrew Polovi Worthy of “Further Action”

In the past, I have filed Freedom of Information requests for discipliary records for teachers and law enforcement personnel.

They have been granted.

So, when I asked for similar records from the Department of Children and Family Services for Carlos Acosta and Andrew Polovin, I was surprised to receive the following denial:

I’m guessing that DCFS will argue that union contract proceedings supersede the Freedom of Information Act.

That, of course, may be the case.

Remember the reinstatement of one Algonquin Township Road District worker fired by Andrew Gasser.

Although the worker was denied unemployment compensation because, I believe, a state arbitrator ruled it justified, he was order rehired by the union arbitrator.

  1. Uggg

Maybe request disciplinary action excluding AJ’s case.

No reason for that to be withheld.

  2. Here comes those pesty public Unions again—keeping folks from the truth, even when it involves the potential mishandling of things that led to a childs death.

Protect those Pensions and protect the Truth, at all costs–thats their current motto. Shameful.

A “pending employment grievance” is not quite like a Criminal Investigation as reason to keep information from the paying (pensions and pay) Public.

Thank you for doing this FOIA Mr Skinner.

Maybe our Attorney General can keep this moving.

  3. By 2025, 25% of Illinois GDP will be unemployed Public Sector Union Workers.
