Illinois has not had a balanced budget in decades. Representative Skillicorn was the only legislator to introduce a truly balanced budget in FY2017 that didn’t raise taxes. Skillicorn will once again be submitting his “Right Now” budget that is balanced without tax hikes. DATE: Saturday, February 1, 2020 TIME: 9 am – 10 am LOCATION: Panera Bread, 101 S. Western Ave, Carpentersville, IL Major Bills being submitted: ● Requires review and elimination of state regulations. ● DHFS Inspector General shall report all suspected cases of provider fraud in the medical assistance program. ● Provides that a redetermination of eligibility for medical assistance benefits shall be conducted every 3 months. ● Requires regular data checks of the welfare rolls to ensure only qualified recipients are receiving welfare. Recipients that move to another state shall not collect.
