McHenry County Board Chairman Jack Franks continues to ignore. state law requiring the appointment of a replacement for a countywide elected official, most lately the McHenry County Coroner.
(10 ILCS 5/25-11)(from Ch. 46, par. 25-11) Sec. 25-11.
When a vacancy occurs in any elective county office…the county board…shall declare that such vacancy exists and notification thereof shall be given to the county central committee or the appropriate county board or board of county commissioners district committee of each established political party within 3 days of the occurrence of the vacancy. The vacancy shall be filled within 60 days by appointment of the chair of the county board…with the advice and consent of the county board…The appointee shall be a member of the same political party as the person he succeeds was at the time of his election and shall be otherwise eligible to serve. The appointee shall serve the remainder of the unexpired term.
Franks ignored this law first when Pam Palmer stepped down as McHenry County Auditor.
He has continued to do this since Dr. Anne Majewski retired at the end of February, 2019.
The excuse now, one would assume, is that there is a binding referendum question on the fall ballot to abolish the office of Coroner.
Laws are for the little people, not august pervs .
Franks’ contribution to BLM, :

McHenry County Democrats have so many resources at their disposal, especially with billionaire JB Pritzker being governor (and you know he has contempt for right-leaning counties) and their county chairwoman, Zahorik, also being the chairwoman of the Illinois Democratic County Chairs Association meaning she has mad connections.
Oh… was this one of those political horse trades I’ve heard about?
No primary against Steve Reick (that seat is certainly going to be taken by Sager (D)) and only 7 Dems on ballot for county board when they could have had 12, making it mathematically impossible for Dems to gain majority of board this year — the best they can end up with is 11 (5 current plus 7 running this year, one being an incumbent, equals 11) county board members out of 24 total.
Is it true that Dems don’t even have a candidate in district 4?
And Patty boy Kenneally is left untouched in Republican primary and general election.
No Democrat runs against Shannon Teresi (auditor race).
No Democrat runs against Michael Rein (coroner race).
Appointments could have happened.
They did not.
Or maybe these are just coincidences…
Regardless of whether the horse trading is real or not, I don’t understand how anybody could support Pat or Jack.
If I were a crooked pos in the government, my biggest fear would not be Bill Barr, Kelly Liebmann, or Bill Prim.
It would be a bunch of pissed off townspeople deciding they’re not gonna take it anymore.

Why he dropped the mummified infant case against the Wiccan Lesbian Coroner Lantz, now deceased, but very much alive when the Kenneally screwed us.

A nice surprise for the new coroner Majewski, who promptly turned the mystery body with the severed head to Bianchi, who filed charges.
Lantz clammed up.
Kenneally tossed the case after he took over because ‘it was water under the bridge and a can of worms’.
Verdict: Kenneally was told to drop the hot potato.

The dead infant case was really scary and sick!
